Supporting Churches
Hope Now is actively helping a number of churches by supporting pastors, helping smaller churches purchase or adapt buildings to meet in, helping with building materials or heaters, and arranging twinning with UK churches for mutual encouragement. We visit these churches regularly to encourage them and find out their needs.
Cherkassy Centre for Biblical Studies
The Cherkassy Centre for Biblical Studies, under the leadership of a British Baptist Minister, was founded in 2004 to train prospective pastors and missionaries. The school is non-denominational and evangelical in character. In May 2006 the first twenty five of its students graduated.
In subsequent years more students have been following in their footsteps. The result is that many churches who had untrained pastors now have trained pastors and churches that previously had no pastor at all now do. This ministry has grown and the Baptist Bishop of Cherkassy visited the school and is very supportive of it.
